Head to the outskirts of Udaipur City on a spirited Marwar-bred horse, for a canter along the foothills of the Aravalli Mountains, in an area dotted by tribal villages. Traditional customs and crafts thrive in these small villages occupied by the Bhil tribes, where you can find mud and earth huts hemmed in by walls of thorns. Leave the lakes and palaces behind and gallop away into the wilderness for an active adventure in the open countryside of Rajasthan. Introduce a hint of unusual to your exclusive holiday in India.
Start the day tour with a horse ride out of the city of Udaipur into the open countryside. Safely harnessed on your Mewari steed, remind yourself that your mount is a descendant of the ancient breed which accompanied the valiant Rajput warriors of Mewar on their martial expeditions.
The ride will take you along the foothills of the sprawling Aravalli Mountains, through a stretch of wild countryside, light thorn forest and patches of dry vegetation. You will cross small tribal Bhil villages, follow a trail of goat paths through hills, and pass dried-up river beds.
Look forward to a relaxing lunch on a little plateau with views of a tribal village, vast fields and shady palm groves. Chirping birds provide background music while you debate the virtues of minimalistic living and the payoffs of a nomadic existence. On the return journey, you will have the chance to see a small hill temple and stop at the scenic Lotus Lake.

Thank you for a wonderful trip to Kerala. We loved the village life walk and Fort Cochin walk. The backwater cruise in a traditional country boat was an incredible experience. As a solo traveller, I felt safe and was exceptionally well taken care of. The cooking class in Jaipur was extremely enjoyable. The food, chef, and his wife were all exceptional and made for a lovely evening. Also, our expectations were definitely exceeded at a private residence, spending time with the elephants and lunching. Thanks for organising a great trip to Lucknow and Varanasi. The hotels at both the places were excellent; we had a great guide in Varanasi who went beyond the designated tour route and showed us around. The food tour in Lucknow was amazing and re-discovering the Awadhi Cuisine was a great experience – the kebabs were out of the world!
It was a terrific experience to spot the King of the jungle in all their glory at Gir. We had a very good experience overall.
