Wagah Border, located at the land border of India and Pakistan on the Grand Trunk Road, is the famous site for a ceremonial retreat, featuring flag-lowering conducted by the Indian Border Security Force and the Pakistan Rangers. Witnessing the dramatic action sequence on this iconic spot, situated 32 kilometres from Amritsar and 22 kilometres from Lahore, is on the bucket list of every visitor during a trip to India.
As part of this day tour, you will take a one-hour long drive from Amritsar to Wagah. This key land border between India and Pakistan is the location for a daily dramatic spectacle, involving a coordinated show by the Indian Border Security Force from India and Pakistan Rangers.
Hundreds of civilians and tourists visit Wagah Border to witness the retreat ceremony every day with great enthusiasm and cheerful jubilation. The festival-like fervour heightens as soldiers from both sides initiate their choreographed steps. Strictly disciplined and perfectly poised army men in crisp uniforms and plumed headgear enact the closure of the border for the day. Theatrical aggression adds a special flavour to the flawless performances. The chorus of patriotic singing, chanting, hooting and cheering, keeps rising in tempo till the event draws to a close with firm handshakes by both sides.

Thank you for a wonderful trip to Kerala. We loved the village life walk and Fort Cochin walk. The backwater cruise in a traditional country boat was an incredible experience. As a solo traveller, I felt safe and was exceptionally well taken care of. The cooking class in Jaipur was extremely enjoyable. The food, chef, and his wife were all exceptional and made for a lovely evening. Also, our expectations were definitely exceeded at a private residence, spending time with the elephants and lunching. Thanks for organising a great trip to Lucknow and Varanasi. The hotels at both the places were excellent; we had a great guide in Varanasi who went beyond the designated tour route and showed us around. The food tour in Lucknow was amazing and re-discovering the Awadhi Cuisine was a great experience – the kebabs were out of the world!
It was a terrific experience to spot the King of the jungle in all their glory at Gir. We had a very good experience overall.
